Chicago Illinois,January 17 2016: The Church of the Ghanaian Community of Chicago, CGCC, swore-in newly elected officers for a two year term in a short ceremony at the Augustana Lutheran Church building, 5500 S. Woodlawn . The Resident Pastor, Mr. Emmanuel Ekow Amonoo swore-in the newly elected officers. The officers who were sworn-in are : Evangelist Kwamina Sam, President; Evelyn Tetteh, Vice-President; Akua Akyaa Agyeman, Secretary, Joe Danso, Treasurer and Rosemary Amegashie, Financial Secretary.
Bye election will be held later to fill the position of Steward. The outgoing Executives includes Sandra Esi Amonoo, Financial Secretary and Afua Darkwa, Secretary. Both Sandra and Afua were not candidates for the 2016 and 2017 elections.
Evangelist Kwamina Sam, Evelyn Tetteh and Elder Joe Danso retained their positions. Sandra Esi Amonoo handed over to Rosemary Amegashie prior to the swearing-in ceremony. In a short remark, the President, Evangelist Kwamina Sam ask the outgoing members of his former cabinet and the general membership to back the newly sworn-in executives. Mr. Bennett Agueman, chairman of the electoral committee also pleaded with members of the church to give their unflinching support to the newly sworn-in officers of the church.
